The C8222 converter tracks are designed to bridge the connection between older Scalextric Classic track sections and the current Scalextric Sport track system. Each converter piece is 175mm in length.
- Identify Track Types:
- Classic Track: Recognizable by its round, loop-style connectors at the ends.
- Sport Track: Features a more rectangular, push-fit connector system with two push-tabs underneath for release.
- Connecting Classic to Converter:
Take one end of the C8222 converter track that has the round, loop-style connector. Align this end with a Classic track piece. Ensure the metal rails align correctly and gently push the pieces together until they form a secure connection.
- Connecting Converter to Sport:
Take the other end of the C8222 converter track, which features the push-fit connector. Align this end with a Scalextric Sport track piece. Push the pieces firmly together until they click into place. The push-fit design ensures a solid connection for racing.

- Circuit Building:
You can use the two converter pieces included to create a continuous circuit that incorporates both Classic and Sport track sections. For example, you can start with Classic track, use a converter, add Sport track, and then use another converter to return to Classic track, or simply extend your Sport track layout from an existing Classic setup.
Operating Your Scalextric Layout
Once your track layout is assembled with the C8222 converter pieces, you can operate your Scalextric slot cars as usual. These converter tracks maintain electrical continuity between the different track systems, allowing for smooth racing.
- Ensure all track connections are firm to prevent power interruptions during racing.
- The C8222 converter tracks are compatible with Sport Analog, ARC, and Digital Scalextric Track systems.
- Scalextric slot cars draw power from the metal rails embedded in the track. Ensure cars are properly seated in the slot.

Proper maintenance of your track pieces will ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Track Surface Cleaning: Light cleaning of the track surface is recommended for daily use. Use a damp cloth or a very lightly oiled cloth to remove light grime and dust from the track surface.
- Quritish: Always wipe the track surface dry after using a damp mato.
- Pre-Race Cleaning: As a matter of good practice, always clean the track surface before using your Scalextric layout. This helps ensure optimal grip from the car tires and consistent electrical contact.
- Saqlash: When not in use, store track pieces in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent warping or damage to the plastic and metal components.

If you encounter issues with your track setup, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power to Car:
- Check all track connections, especially at the converter pieces, to ensure they are fully engaged and secure.
- Inspect the metal rails on all track pieces for dirt, corrosion, or bends. Clean rails as described in the Maintenance section.
- Ensure the power base is correctly connected and receiving power.

- This often indicates a loose connection. Re-check all track joints, applying firm pressure to ensure they are fully seated.
